PowerPoint 2010 audio mismatch in video

I have a simple PowerPoint 2010 file with 32 slides, images only, no video, no transitions. Each slide has associated audio (my recorded voice). I have edited the audio on some individual slides within PowerPoint. The slide show presentation works in PowerPoint as expected.
I used PowerPoint 2010 to create a wmv video file. When I run the wmv file, 23 of the 32 image plus audio segments play as expected. However the audio segments corresponding to the other 9 images have either disappeared, leaving silence (2 cases) or have borrowed part or whole audio segments from other images. Example: slide 7 appears as part of the video. While it is on screen, I hear the audio associated with slide 2. (When slide 2 appears, the correct audio is heard.)
I haven’t been able to find a report of similar behaviour. I would welcome advice as to how to get this to work.

No replies! I followed a recommendation to move my pptx file up to a higher level and then created a new wmv video file. Same slide/audio mismatch as before. I then changed the extension on a copy of the Powerpoint file from pptx to zip. Examining the underlying files I found no obvious discrepancies: the individual slide files appeared to reference the correct audio files. Suspecting that there might be a bug in the video conversion segment of Powerpoint 2010, I downloaded Camtasia, which is free to use for a month, and succeeded in creating an mp4 video file which is an accurate reflection of my pptx file. That seems to offer evidence in support of my suspicion about a bug. Thank you Camtasia!
