I want to do a PowerPoint presentation from my laptop to my TV.
    1. I’ve plugged an S-Video plug into my laptop and connected it to a video cable to my TV.
    2. The laptop display is 800 x 600
    3. I can’t get anything on the TV
    Any suggestions?

My laptops have ATI drivers, so this might be somewhat different on yours. In the Display control panel (right-click desktop, Properties…), Settings tab, there is an Advanced button to get to the ATI driver settings. There I can explain which displays are connected and enabled, and indicate which one is primary. This doesn’t always work; some trial and error may be required.

It’s probably best to have the LCD panel be primary, and then in PowerPoint, use the Presenter Mode options to drive the display on the TV. I’ve never done it, but having messed up my desktop numerous times with resolution changes, I’d definitely try it first before making the TV the primary display. smile
