Hello everyone. After the tornado of patches thrown at us last month, I’m worried about timing out my maxed-out delay settings before July’s updates are forced upon me before they are deemed safe.

Then I came across this article this morning at The Windows Club.

I’m tempted but leery about trying this out myself. I searched for “Kill-Updates” but don’t see any mention of this within these forums. Has anyone tried this out or have a test system to test this out?

      Hello and welcome @enduser 🙂

My worry with these small programs is they are forgotten about by the user causing other problems later. Also allowing a relatively unknown program to administrator level seems a bit concerning. IMO

Good shout for asking, I’m sure someone will be along shortly to assist with a W10 VM.

Edit: I found a new version of Winaero tweaker which claims to do the same (and more for W10)

      Unwanted Windows 10 Updates

This release comes with improvements which allow the app to reliably disable updates and annoying forced reboots in Windows 10. Thanks to my friend Vitaly who spent several sleepless nights fighting with the update mechanism of the OS.

I’ve used this program for years on W7 and 8 with total success.

@Microfix Good call I use Winaero Tweaker my self its fuss free, does as its supposed to do and there’s loads of explanations if you wish to see how the “Magic” works which I like. Sergei Tchanko? bet I have spelt that wrong lol, has a good web site and keeps up with the changing Win10 Vers. normally he’s testing the “Insider” versions well in advance for new “tricks” and tweaks. 🙂

Thanks to @microfix and @bobbyb for your replies. I was not aware that a program such as Winaero Tweaker existed. Looks like I’ll have to make time to do my due diligence research pronto.

I’m still running Enterprise 1709, so in addition to bobbing and weaving the monthly torpedoes, I worry each time I fire up that I will be facing the dreaded 1803 nuke. 🙂
