I have more information about the print spooler problem I first posted three months ago.
(The spooler stops a few seconds after I hit OK to print something then continually fails even after being manually restarted)

Today, like three months ago, I am trying to print a postage label from within PayPal having sold something on eBay. This is the first time since then that I’m using PayPal to print the label. In the intervening period I’ve had no problems whatsoever with printing, even from web pages using IE9 or Canon’s Easy-WebPrint EX to print.

When the spooler failed today, I:
    Restarted Win7-64,
Navigated to C:WindowsSystem32spoolPRINTERS and deleted all files in there
Tried printing from Excel and Word – both OK
Tried the PayPal label and the spooler stopped.

How can I prevent PayPal from stopping the Print Spooler?

Also: I have just completed the print operation successfully, using the Royal Mail postage printing facility direct (I believe PayPal interfaces with this). All I have to do now is recover my print costs from PayPal!

All PayPal’s support options address business problems, I couldn’t find anything like Technical Support but I have sent an eMail with a request to forward it to the relevant department… so I’m not holding my breath for that response!

Since printing works with Excel, Word, & Royal Mail Postage it sure seems as though it is a PayPal specific problem.

… it sure seems as though it is a PayPal specific problem.

FYI, PayPal’s response (having told them the driver is the latest available): “I would ask that you make sure you have the latest drivers for your printer and
your system as we are unable to offer technical help of this type.”

Looks like I’ll just have to stop printing labels via PayPal.

Wow!! What a lame response. I’m sorry I don’t have any better ideas for you.
