I have searched “Help” provided by MS Word and have scoured my Que Word reference, to no avail. Is there any way to print a folded booklet in Word 97 without having to cut-and-paste (as in scissors, paper, Scotch tape, etc.)?

AskWoody LoungerNovember 11, 2004 at 11:41 am #898498Word 97 doesn’t have built-in support for booklets, but you can still get Woody’s WOPR 97; it contains a utility that lets you print various kinds of folders and booklets:
WOPR’s “Two-by-Four” or 2X4 is a Word add-in with multi-page printing features: Duplex, 2Up, 4Up, TriFold Pamphlet, Greeting Cards, Thumbnails and Booklet printing. The multi-page printing options in 2X4 can save reams of paper and there’s even an option to save toner; save 25%, 50% or 75% of the toner a regular document page would require. 2X4 squishes like no other because it maintains your formatting. You can go in and manually balance pages, or just let 2X4 do its thing, and arrange things automagically. Print front-and-back “duplex” without an expensive duplex printer. 2X4 works in the background, so you can go do something else while the squishing machine takes over.
You can get it from the WOPR Frontpage link at the bottom of every Lounge page.

AskWoody LoungerNovember 11, 2004 at 4:51 pm #898636There is an article by M. David Stone, originally in PC Magazine, on using linked text boxes in Word97 to make foldover booklets. The article is now at http://www.carolmccluer.net/word-tips.htm%5B/url%5D about two thirds of the way down the page. I use Word97 and have used this to make several booklets. It’s not automatic, but once you have your booklet set up it’s easily edited.
In addition to Two-by-Four mentioned by Hans, Clickbook at http://www.bluesquirrel.com[/url%5D is another reputable program for this purpose. I have not used it but many others have. The website says they are offering a special holiday price.
Good Luck, J. Till
