My wife’s computer died, disk was OK.  I removed the disk and put it into my system so we can get her data off of it.  The “My Documents” and such went fine, but I need to get into “Application Data” to get her Thunderbird profiles out so I can put them on the new system.  But every time I try and in every way that I can think to try, I get an access error.  I’m guessing it thinks that private stuff belongs to my wife and I can’t have it.  So how do I get it out of there?

    Thanks.

Is there a folder called “AppData”? Look there.

Windows has “Documents” and “My Documents” – only one has the data.
There’s “Pictures” and “My Pictures” – only one has the data.
      There’s “AppData” and “Application Data”……

Duh.  I originally looked for AppData, but only found Application Data.  I was looking in the wrong place!  It’s been a long day.  It seems to be all there.

      Thank you!
