[Ok first let me setup up the situation and my problem:

I am using the new Powerpoint 2010

I have 25 slides and have an audio file embedded that plays across the entire 25 slides, this was saved as an slide show presentation in 2010 the size is 3.30 MB at this point.
This plays in 2010 and the new PPT 2010 Viewer if one has it installed and is easy to e-mail as an attachment as it is only 3.30 mbs.
Now if the person on the receiving end only has the PowerPoint 2007 viewer this will play the video but will not play the embedded audio.
If it is converted to the 97-2003 the file is increased by about 10 fold almost 43 mbs, which makes it impossible to e-mail at this ridiculous size..
So my question is how to play a 2010 Slide presentation with the 2007 power point viewer, and have the embedded audio play
    with it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanking all in advance !!

    Regards

Unless you are using some PPT 2010 specific feature a presentation created in PPT 2010 should play correctly in PPT 2007. Make sure the Office 2007 is up-to-date with service packs and hotfixes.

See New features in PPT 2010 for an overview.

      Dale,

      Welcome to the Lounge.

This is just a shot in the dark but what audio format are you using? Is that format supported in 2007?
The dramatic increase in size, at least to me, would suggest a conversion of the audio. I’ve done some pretty large presentations with animation effects and all and never approached that size in 2003, 2002, 2000.

Addendum: I just went back and checked and I have a 111 Slide presentation with graphics and animations in PP 2003 and it is only 908Kb!

May the Forces of good computing be with you!

You do not need to convert to 97-2003 to play in 2007. The file size when you do is due to new graphic effects and text effects being converted to pngs.

To play embedded music other than wav files in 2007 you must have service pack 2.

Maybe I am going about this all wrong.
I am checking the slide show presentation out on a computer (Laptop) that has the 2007 player (viewer) only, it has the full version of 2010,
So I e-mailed to myself as an attachment and forced it to play via the 2007 viewer, I tried multiple different audio files embedded, but it still will not play the audio in the 2007 viewer for me, If I Play with the 2010 viewer or program it plays all fine.
Maybe I should check with somebody that has the PPT 2007 full program installed and see it it plays for them.
I embedded wav, wma, mp3 none will play in 07.
I am appreciating all of the input and suggestions from the members in the Lounge, hopefully I get this straightened out, I am sure it is something silly that I am doing or not doing correctly

      Regards

2007 VIEWER does not support this
Full 2007 WITH SP2 will play the files (at least for me)
