I’m having a problem opening image attachments in Outlook 2016. When I click on the arrow to the right of the attachment I get the standard options for Preview, Open, etc. If I click on Open, I get the following dialog:
Virus & threat protection
Action blocked
Your administrator caused Windows Security to block this action.
If I click on the box it takes me to Protection history, and I see this:
Your administrator has blocked this action. App or process blocked: OUTLOOK.EXE
Blocked by: Attack surface reduction
Rule: Block only Office communication applications from creating child processes
I can still see the image if I use the Preview function, but I can’t do anything with it. Is there any way to get around this?
