I have never tried to change the color of my web pages and home page. Everything just changed colors on me and I have absolutely no clue as to how or why. Everything used to be white, Now all my backgrounds are aqua or a pale lavender. It is affecting other things on my laptop, like viewing photos. They have red streaks through them, and are difficult to make out. I have tried everything, but nowhere can I find where these colors can be changed. I have found where to change colors, but nothing works. I figured somewhere it would show current colors being used so you could change, but no luck. :(…. btw, this is for Windows 7.

Please someone help me!! 🙂 thanks!

      Girl,

Just a guess, but this sounds like the video card or its drivers. Try uninstalling the video card in Device Manager, see if that improves things. If it does, see if you can find updated drivers for the video card and give it a try.

Very hard to change physical things as they usually are all part of the motherboard.

Before you wonder "Am I doing things right," ask "Am I doing the right things?"

OOps did not catch that. Make that a last resort, harder to do and easier to s(*&up.

Hmm I had to help my mum with a similar issue like this a while ago. It was a Win7 laptop too and she had been facing issues with her video. Her desktop had blue and green streaks and splatters and every time she tried to start a full screen picture slideshow, the computer BSODed on her. Turns out that Windows Update had listed a video driver in the optional list but she had mistakenly accepted and downloaded it. I could see it on the “Installed Updates” link but could find no way to uninsstall it. So I tried doing a System Restore to the oldest restore point available and after two or three tries, it worked! You might want to check and see if Windows Update had installed any video drivers, knowingly or unknowingly.

Often caused by tarnished RAM contacts. The RAM chip(s) in your laptop are most likely under a removable cover on the underside of the laptop.

Carefully remove the RAM chip(s) and clean the gold-plated contacts by gently rubbing with a good-quality white pencil rubber not a ballpoint pen rubber (usually grey). Brush off any particles (toobrush works well) then re-fit the RAM to the slot(s).

The contacts gradually become tarnished over a period of time, especially in humid weather, with the constant heating and cooling of the laptop being in use then switched off.
