“There is a problem with this web site’s security certificate”. I get this message every time – I have added the site to my trusted sites – but it still appears. Is there any way of turning this off please?

    Thanks

In IE6, you can turn this off as follows:
      – Select Tools | Internet Options…
      – Activate the Advanced tab.
      – Scroll all the way down.
      – Clear the check box labeled “Warn about invalid site certificates”.
      – Click OK.
I don’t know if IE7 has an equivalent option.

      Roberta,

In IE7, it looks like the closest thing to what Hans suggested is in the same Internet Options>Advanced tab.
Scroll down to Security and there should be a line that says, “allow software to run or install even if certificate is invalid”.
You could try checking that box and see what happens?

If it’s an important site to you, please complain to the webmaster. If users set their browsers to stop paying attention to whether they are dealing with genuine sites, there will be more and more fraud on the internet.
