We have just upgraded from a 2000 server to a 2003. Most of our xp users (strangely not all) are experiencing problems with slow functioning outlook (difficulties opening, taking for ever to sending mail, etc.) and Word not opening at all or accessing files very slowly. Even if we switch outlook to not use word as its editor the same problems were experienced.

Has anyone else experienced this – and if so are there any easy solutions – other than upgrade everybody to 2003!?

    Thank you
    Roberta

I don’t use 2003, but might any of these articles help?

We have a Windows Server 2003 server and Exchange 2003, with lots of XP Pro workstations almost all running Office XP = 2002. It’s been like this for well over a year. One PC has within the last 6 months been running Office 2003. All use Word as their Outlook editor. Other than incompatibilities between the two versions of Publisher documents, we haven’t had any problems.

On Exchange, are you using mailboxes exclusively or do you have PST files to hold the messages?
