I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. The problem I am having is that Windows Media Center will not update the Program guide listings. I have removed and restored Windows Media Center, ran a scan and fix and have looked all over the internet for help on this. It seems that this is a wide reachig problem and that no one seems to have an answer on how to fix it, including Microsoft. I noticed that a couple times when I tried to update that in the background it was saying that the ESP failed and also that Zip2it might also be the problem. Other than reloading the entire Win7 Home Prem, which some say works and others say doesn’t, any ideas on this?

I have an analog setup through my cable company and everything ran fine until recently although I havent used this feature in a few months. Most people are saying this problem started around April 2012 but no real recommended fixes that seem to work.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

P.s.: If there is already a post regarding this my apologies. I looked through around 300 posts on here and didn’t see anything.

Update on this. It turned out I had another problem which was probably the cause of this one. Turns out I also was unable to d/l microsoft updates to my computer. After much searching around and with the help of my son, I discovered that my BITS was no where to be found. Once I discovered that, my son found the fix for it and after d/l the fix from Microsoft and running it I was able to d/l about 27 updates that were waiting for me. Once that was done and installed I then ran the update for the media guide. Although it said there were some errors, don’t know where, It d/l the guide and all is well with the world again. 🙂

If you lost BITS, there’s a decent chance you may have picked up some malware. I’d recommend downloading and running MalwareBytes just to be on the safe side.
