I am trying to publish to a pc we have set up as a server with IIS4 (so it is not though an external ISP).

I cannot complete the exercise because it starts asking me for user name and password – we have set no passwords up.

Even the logging on the pc does not require a password! We logged on successfully so I know that the link with the server pc has been established and email (via microsoft exchange set up on the server) works fine?

Does anyone have any bright ideas please?

In answer to your question it is being run on Windows 98. However, I am sorry to have bothered you all with this one – I have just discovered that our techinical guy had in fact put a password on this server – in mitigation one has never been put on any other training pc we have put together in the past! –

This problem did occur in the past with the previous server we set up, we could not resolve it so started again. When the same dialog box appeared I decided to ask for help – of course in this instance unnecessarily!!!!

        Thanks anyway
