I have an HP Presario CQ45-120TX and have recently upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium from Vista Home Premium. I did an “automatic” upgrade – formatted the C: drive, used the D:-restore drive to restore the software supplied on purchase and then did an in-place upgrade.

I now get an error message on every Shut Down (not on Restart) that says “CL RC Engine3 Dummy Winidow: QPService.exe – Application Error” – yes, the spelling Winidow is how it appears. It stops the shutdown completely.

Any clues / solutions as to what causes this and how to fix it.
    Thanks
    Brian

QPservice is part of HP Quickplay. If you use Quickplay check the HP site to see if there is a version that says it is compatible with Windows 7. Otherwise, uninstall it.
