For Word/Office installed on the PC:
Enter %Templates% into the Start Menu search box and press the Enter key.
File Explorer will open to the default location of Word’s Normal.dotm template and Office NormalEmail.dotm template.

I am using Word 2016 on one PC and Word 2019 on another.
Many choices come up for me in the Search flyout using %templates% as the search term in the Start Menu search box, since I have some documents and folders with the word ‘template’ in them. The one I have to select to get customized templates for Word is the Document folder named Custom Office Templates. But, there is no Normal.dotm there. The folder is empty, since I haven’t created any customized Word templates yet.
I find the Normal.dotm at C:>Users>personalfoldername>AppData>Roaming>Microsoft>Templates, but this folder does not appear in the Search flyout, even though the foldername is ‘Templates’ ??

I have to apologize for that tip as I posted it. Yes, what I posted works, but only after you add that customization, which I didn’t post. The % signs tell Windows that what is inside the % signs is an Environment Variable (PATH address shortcut). You can create this Templates Environment Variable to go to where the Normal. dotm is stored. The Templates folder is a special folder that a Windows search will not show. The Environment Variable below is universal and will open that Templates folder with the Noirmal.dotm, which is what I should have posted first.
Copy and Paste the following into the Start Menu and press the Enter key.
%appdata%\Microsoft\Templates
How to create Environment Variables is in my book.
