I have an rdp file on my desktop that gets me into my company’s network. It’s all set up properly and work every time. But when I try to get it onto my taskbar, the lnk file will only target mstsc.exe and open up a general instance of rdc, and not see the settings in the office-specific rdp file. First world annoyance, but can anyone enlighten me on what I’m missing please?

    Thanks – r

There are 2 ways around that.
Make the shortcut to run MSTSC with the RDP file as a parameter: mstsc connnection.rdp
Make it run the command prompt with the RDP as a parameter: %comspec% /c start "" mstsc connection.rdp

      cheers, Paul
