Re-installing O2k and re-applying SRs (2000/Base to SR3)

I’ve recently installed O2k over O97, and updated all the way to SP3. Outlook reminders are often late or keep coming back, which KB 321179 says is fixed by getting the latest (?) Service Pack. The file size/date comparison mentioned on the KB does not properly check out with mine, so I might have to reinstall and do the updates again. If I do that, should I uninstall Office and start over, or take some other approach?
