When I try to export a table, I get the error “Database or object is read only”. I have checked the table, database and folder where I am exporting the table and nothing is marked as read only. I even had my network administrator check the folder permissions and I have complete read/write access. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions on what this problem may be.

    Thanks

I’m sorta just thinking out loud here

      I would check

      1. When you exit the database is there a .ldb file in the same directory as the database?
yes? someone else is in the database and this may be causing problems?
      no?

      2. Can you export any other tables?
yes? can you run a make table query from the table and then export the ‘new’ table ?

      3. How are you actually trying to export it?

Thanks for your response. I have listed below what I have found based on your questions.

        1. There is no .ldb file in any directory for this database.
        2. I have the same problem with all tables in the database as well as any new table I made using a make table query.
        3. I am right clicking the table and selecting export. I am trying to export as an excell 97-2000 file.

I noticed that this problem occurs only in folders that are 4 levels deep in the path that I am exporting to. However it does not occur with all folders that are that deep. I have also tried to recreate this problem in other folders on other servers and the same thing occurs.

I appreciate all of your help.
