I have a co-worker who is running Office 2000 on a windows XP machine. She has 2 different ISPs. All was working fine until a few days ago. Now when she checks for incoming mail, the 1st ISP mail account is downloaded fine. When it proceeds to check the 2nd ISP, she gets an error message “Common Client User Session has encountered a problem and must shut down…” After clearing the message she then get another error message “TCP/IP connection was unexpectantly terminated by the server.”
There does not appear to be any problem with the 2nd ISP in that the account can be accessed through IE and the E-mail can be successfully downloaded from other computers using both Outlook and Eudora.
She uninstalled Office 2000 and reinstalled and this did not help. She also tried to do a restore in XP. The oldest restore point was 11/23/04 which she tried to no avail.
Any suggestions on what may be causing the problem. Tried to look for Common client problems on Microsoft website but could fine no assistance.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
