Cutting to the chase.  I had to reconfigure my Outlook after it got cranky.  Had a local repair tech help.  He setup Outlook as IMAP I prefer POP and had him come back to set it up for me.  In the process he deleted all the downloaded emails.

I discovered I was starting with email from 2008.  Outlook set to connect every minute.  I then next found I could just sit at my computer and hit “Sent Receive All Folders”.  Got me to 2100 I called and ask if there was a better way and tech told me no.

So I figured I come here see if some of you smart folks can help me out.  I’d like to fix things so I would start downloading from 1-1-2024.

When you say “Got me to 2100…”, do you mean that repeatedly clicking the Send/Receive All Folders button got you from 0 to 2100 emails in Outlook, or was the “2100” supposed to be 2010, for the year 2010?

Well, I’ve made it to August 2024. Looks like is there was a better way the people knew worked I’d have it by now.

Thanks any for your suggestions. Pounding away on F9 will get me there soon enough.

If you were using POP then it’s likely your old mail has been removed from the server and stored locally. If you did not back them up they may be lost.

      cheers, Paul

You can see if there is a pst file and then reimport it back in?

If I understand this correctly, from the switch from IMAP to POP all your emails starting from 2008 starting downloading to your Outlook and you want a way to by pass these old emails to get to current emails. If so then I assume you do not want or need a copy of the older emails.
Possible solution if your mail provider has a web page to view your email. If your mail provider has a web page to view your emails and if you don’t need those emails, you can go to that web site and delete those emails before they download to your Outlook. That would be way faster.
