Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |
Can I download something to ‘update’ XP Home to run as the Host for MS’s Remote Desktop?
Or am I just asking for trouble?
Details:
I have Win XP-SP2 Home on my Desktop – it has cable modem. Not sure what is on the Lenovo Laptop that connects with a shared DSL line…
If it has XP Pro on it, then I might be able to use it as the Host… not sure how the power down / sleep feature would affect operation or reliability.

Remote Desktop host is NOT supported in XP Home. You might consider something such as Ultra VNC : Remote Support Software, Remote Support tool, Remote Desktop Control, Remote Access Software, PC Remote Control or SourceForge.net: TightVNC. Both are 
and work well with XP.
