At one time I right clicked on a folder on a mapped drive and checked the box for Available Offline. I regret that now, but cannot remove the sync relationship. I do not want this folder available offline. I do not want Windows 7 to try to sync this folder. I do not want the 2.3GB of space these offline files are taking up on my hard disk under c:WindowsCSCv2.0.6namespacenetworksharename.
In the Sync Center, under View sync partnerships, when I doubleclick on Offline Files, it shows the folder networksharename (\servername)
When I right click on networksharename (\servername) there is no option to delete.
When I select networksharename (\servername) and hit the Delete key nothing happens
When I select networksharename (\servername) and go the File menu, the Delete is grayed out.
Here’s what I’ve done that has NOT worked.
In the Sync Center, under View sync partnerships, when I doubleclick on Offline Files, it shows the folder networksharename.
I have deleted the offline copies of the files, but they continue to be recreated on my computer.
I went to Sync Centre and selected Manage Offline Files on the left.
I then selected the Disable Offline Files button and rebooted
I then went to C:WindowsCSCv2.0.6namespace
I then took ownership of the networksharename folder and replaced permissions on all files and subfolders under it
I deleted the networksharename folder
I rebooted
I went to Sync Centre and selected Manage Offline Files on the left.
I then selected the Enable Offline Files button
I rebooted
I then went to C:WindowsCSCv2.0.6namespace
Guess what was there? The networksharename folder I deleted before was back.
Any Suggestions?
Additional information – In the Sync Center I removed the networksharename from the Sync Schedule, then repeated all the steps mentioned above, but when I browsed to the networksharename the window showed at the bottom “Offline Availability: Available”, and again the folder was recreated under c:windowscscv2.0.6namespace.
