My aunt innocently downloaded weatherstudio into her system and now it’s taken over.

I’ve tried Add/Remove Programs and Ad-Aware to no avail.

Can anyone recommend an effective solution?

    Thanks.

This page has suggestions for manually removing the pest.

That sounds extremely helpful. Thank you.

I checked out the ParetoLogic site. It wasn’t clear whether the free scan would do the job, or what the antispyware costs.

Have you had any experience with the software?

Sorry, no experience with ParetoLogic. A Google search shows that the ParetoLogic software has a good reputation. Prices seem to range around US$30. You can provide ample anti-spyware, though, for free. A number of posts recommend Avast or AVG. If you search this forum, you’ll find ample testimony.

Download and install Spybot S&D and then update and run it. There is a tutorial for the program here. If that doesn’t clear it, post back and we can try something else or you could try to remove it manually by editing the registry and deleting some files per the link in DenGar’s post
