I have downloaded Spreadsheet Detective (a spreadsheet auditing tool) from the web and have it on trial until 26-Dec. Therefore, I am approaching decision time on whether to buy a full licence.

The main feature that I use is one which allows you to Rename named ranges and will apply this new name in all affected formulae. As this is the main use I get from the Add-In I have been doing some research on the Microsoft website to see if this functionality is included in either 2000 or 2002 (I am pretty certain it isn’t in 2000 as I have used it before and did not see any mention of it). I can’t seem to see it existing in 2002. Therefore, my question for anyone interested is:

Do you know whether 2002 will provide this feature for me?

If you don’t, I don’t want bespoke macro solution as I will just get the company to cough up for a full licence.

You don’t need a macro to do this — manually use insert/name/define, find your old range name, type a new one in its place, then globally replace the old name with the new name in the workbook.

Bob thanks for your reply. The using the Add-In removes the need to replace the name throughout the workbook, which could be time consuming in large workbook.
