I know someone must have run into this problem before that can help me.
I have a row of 40,000 records and I need to search a column to replace any * with a blank using the Edit | Replace menu. I need to do the same thing with ?. What I think Excel is doing is building a search with Like(*) so it replaces everything in the column with a blank instead of just those that have the *. I lose all my data.
Is there anyway to have Excel do this replace correctly?
I haven’t tried this yet but I probably could save it as a csv file and do the changes there are then import it back to Excel. But I would like to find a way to do it in Excel.
