I have recently returned to the Lounge after a long absence. So, I am practically new. Could not find a forum where to post my question/request, so, I am trying here.
Could you all please give me advice on selecting a web hosting and email service as I am not sure I should stay with our current one. Here is what I am looking for:
** Supports Microsoft products IIS, ASP.NET, .Net Core, SQL Server, in a shared hosting environment
    ** Supports PHP and MySQL
    ** Provides free SSL certificate
** I would transfer my current domain name to them
** Provides email services, probably Exchange so that encryption is possible
** Shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg

I am a retired somewhat advanced amateur programmer using Visual Studio Community for building the website for a tiny non-profit flying club. I live in Seattle, WA. Do you have recommendations for such hosting services?

Free SSL certificates are available from Let’s Encrypt – used here at Woody’s.

I don’t have any host suggestions.

      cheers, Paul

I’ve been using InMotion Hosting for nine years.  I use their Power Plan.  They have a great tech support staff, chat service available.  In all that time I’ve had no complaints.  Visit those links and see for yourself what they have to offer.

Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!
We all have our own reasons for doing the things that we do with our systems; we don't need anyone's approval, and we don't all have to do the same things.
We were all once "Average Users".

I’ve had good success with WebMate. They’re located in the UK. Not the cheapest provider out there, but their prices aren’t too bad, and they offer premium hosting. Their support is top notch (you’ll get to personally know the support reps, and they’ll be there for you). They do offer PHP, MYSQL, and domain registration. I believe they pretty much run Linux, so not sure if they support the MS stuff you’re needing, but you could ask them.

They don’t offer free SSL certificates out of the box (but their cheapest one isn’t bad), but you can probably add Let’s Encrypt to your hosting package to get one for free.

They don’t offer Exchange, but they do offer rock-solid email hosting cheap. I use their email hosting as my primary personal email hosting now.

If you want Exchange, I would recommend going straight for Microsoft 365. I haven’t found a better way to get access to Exchange than going straight for 365.
