When attempting to resend a message from Outlook, all goes well until I click the send button. I get an error message: Unable to send this message on behalf of specified user.
We are using Exchange Server 5.5 and others can complete this action without any problems. There are just a few of us who are unsuccessful. What am I missing ? Thanks for your help….Carol

AskWoody LoungerNovember 29, 2001 at 6:44 pm #555000I saw this at a client site last month, and unfortunately it was never resolved while I was there, so I don’t have a solution.
The message not only displayed when trying to resend, but also when trying to assign a task, and trying to send email on behalf of someone (permissions were definitely granted). I assumed it was something that would have to be resolved on the Exchange side. Good luck, and let me know if you find out what’s wrong, I’m still curious.

AskWoody LoungerNovember 30, 2001 at 2:47 pm #555271If you are using NT, this is a known issue. If not, then I’m not sure…
Your account on the Exchange server must have Permissions, WinNT Accounts with Permissions, “Send As” checked. The problem is that NT users authenticate differently than other OS types, which ends up causing all sorts of problems.

AskWoody LoungerNovember 30, 2001 at 3:29 pm #555290Windows 2000 is just NT dressed up for the prom. You have the same issues as far as authentication goes. As for the problem only happening with some users, each recipient (user) can have different rights/settings on the server.
I’m not saying this IS the problem, only that it’s a likely one. One clue would be if the problem only showed up after the upgrade to Win2K. If they had the problem before then we have to look elsewhere.
