When entering resources names, MS Project seems to save the names in the order you enter them. This is Ok if you have a relatively small project, however, it is a bit a pain with large lists of resources.

Is there anyway of (automatically?) organising the resource names in alphabetical order?

PS: We have sorted the resource names in the resource sheet but this does not have any impact on the drop down list of resources.

Sort the Resources by selecting “Sort/Sort by…” from the Project menu. There you’ll find a checkbox for permanently re-ordering your resources – the drop-down listbox will use the ID ordering.
