I’ve a task with multiple resourses. One of them shows 200% in units. I try
to change to 100% and it changes it back. I can’t seem to change anything
that will allow me to change that. Help? I know it’s just a combo of effort driven, type, etc. But can’t make it work!

On that same note, how can I tell project to NEVER use anything but 100%.
These are all people and can only be <= 100%.

      Bryan,

Is the 200% showing up in the task pane when assigning resources?

Go to where your resources are setup and check their availability. Also, could you please provide more information on the task. Is it fixed duration, effort driven, etc.

Any chance you are using multiple resource pools with the same resource name assigned to the task from multiple pools?

Well I can’t tell you what I did , but I got it working this morning. As much as I THINK I understand how this stuff works, I stil sometimes can’t figure out why Project is doing something. v2003 is better for me, but … The dialog looks a bit weird now as the effort driven checkbox is checked AND greyed out but since I changed it to fixed work it makes some sense.

You mention resource pools. Do you have a good link explaining how they work. When I’ve set them up for this master/sub project they don’t work as I expect. I’ve tried to make each one the master pool and neither option gave me the results I’m looking for. What I want is for the master project to have it’s set of resources, which are available in the sub projects and are leveled across the master and sub-projects. I want additional resources in the sub projects which are only used by them. Right now the resources duplicate. I want the sub projects worked on by the sub project managers and show only their resources and then for it all to roll up into my master project correctly.
