After doing Windows Updates both the old way and the MSUC way the last 2 months, I noticed that there are no longer any restore points being created for those. I do see 2 scheduled checkpoints created about 4 weeks apart for Nov and Dec both of which were later in the month than when I did the updates.

Is this some new MS policy or is there something wrong with my settings, I do not believe I changed anything.

    Thanks

On the 19th ( 2 days ago ), I D/L’ed the new MSRT thru WU and it made a restore point. I also have numerous restore points from WU on days that I never checked WU.

Thanks for the reply. I went into “System Protection” and found that somehow it had been turned off. In the protection settings, it said it was turned on for my OS drive but off for the other 2 partitions. I then went into configuration, “turn off system protection” was ticked. I changed it to “only restore previous versions of files” but I could not tick the “restore system settings and restore previous versions of files” setting. Not sure why that setting would be there and then be unavailable. Perhaps this has something to do with creating a 2nd partition for apps that do not need to be on the OS drive.
