When I right click desktop icons or the start button it takes 30 seconds or so for the pop up menu to appear. (Right clicking the desktop, system tray icons, and task bar the pop up menu appears right away) I’m running NT4 WS SP6 on an IBMPC 300GL w/128MB RAM. Paging file size is 200MB w/max registry size set to 50MB. The HDD has over 500MB free space and defrag and McAfee VirusScan have been run. I have removed and re-installed SP6 with no change. The PC is shutdown daily. Any ideas?

I did have a similar problem but using win98. Somebody told me to remove some of the entries created when you right-click (the desktop) NEW > …filetype (the list here adds up as you open applications installed in your computer that register a particular file type). To eliminate some entries in here, if you have TWEAK then this will help clean up most of the entries. For some reason my right-clicking works normally. You may try this trick.
