I get the following error when I boot up: Invalid BackWeb application id “4929610”.

What is it and how do I cure it?

      From the “Pest Patrol” site:

BackWeb is a generic, background downloading tool that software vendors can incorporate into their product to download data (e.g. product updates) to the user’s PC. Its operation depends on the instructions given to it by the individual software vendor who bundles it.

Use Spybot to get rid of it.

Hmm, is this why I can’t download Windows updates? When I click on Start Download, nothing happens.

I’ve run Ad-Aware and SpyBot and the Runner Error still pops-up. I’m going to de; Kodak EasyShare and d/l it again. That’s the only program that I have that uses BackWeb. We’ll see.
      Meanwhile, thank you for replying
