For some unknown reason when l am exiting a spreadsheet file.
I keep getting message “Do you want to save changes?”

Yet l have made no changes to database.
Any ideas as to why this message appears?
It does not appear on any other spreadsheets l use.

There are some functions that always recalculate, like NOW() and TODAY() and some others. They cause Excel to think your sheet has changed and thus it asks whether you want to save.

How do l go about removing these commands as l have deleted all macros that do these functions.
One spreadsheet appears to be ok , yet the others come up with the error.

But does the workbook contain formulas in cells with functions that always recalculate, such as TODAY() or NOW() ?

I have been through the worksheets and cannot see any evidence of this.
Any suggestions, shall l send you the worksheets?

You can attach an example workbook. If it’s too large, create a zip file and attach that. If the workbook contains sensitive data, remove them, but don’t remove formulas.

              You did not attach anything

File was to large to attach.

I cannot think of a way to reduce size of file in Excel.
Is there any think l can check in the file which l have not done so already?

You could (in a copy) delete some of the sheets. Move some of the sheets to new workbooks and see if they give the message and just attach one of the sheets that does.

              I have resolved it.
There appears to be something in the last worksheet such as one of commands you suggested.
But what cell is l have no idea?
Any ideas as to how l can track the command down in the worksheet?

              edit – find
              now
              or
              today
