Schedule a full scan in Windows Defender

I am trying to schedule a full scan in Windows Defender using Task Scheduler. I am running Windows 10 Pro, latest update.

Using the recommended basic task in Task Scheduler “%ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe” with the argument -Scan -ScanType 2. I was able to get a scan but the results showed it ran a Quick Scan.

Has anyone successfully automated Windows Defender to run a full scan on a schedule?

“%ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe” -Scan -ScanType 2 is correct.
Defender starts by running a quick scan and then proceeds to full scan.

Thank you for your reply. Defender does run a quick scan but it does not proceed to a full scan. It only runs a quick scan which does not solve the problem.
