I am deciphering a large spreadsheet done by someone else and would like to be able to search and replace cell addresses in formulas; e.g. C13 or $C$13 with a variable name such as Hmin where the min in Hmin is subscript. I’m also changing the formula to text so I can read it. Other than doing a search and replace and then individuallly changing the text, is there a way to keep subscript/superscript formatting in a search and replace?

Replies

Formulas cannot contain formatting of individual characters.
As far as I know, Replace cannot apply character formatting to the “replace with” text.
You can write a macro that applies subscript to “min”.

That’s what I thought, but I wanted to check with people who know a lot more about Excel than I.Thanks.
