The Security Only Updates for .NET consist of four individual updates, one for each version of .NET. You only need the individual patch for the version(s) you have installed.

To access the update you need for your version of .NET, in the Catalog, click on the title link of the update you need. In the box that pops, on the right, click on “more information” and it will show you which individual update you need. You only need to download the one(s) for the version(s) you have installed on your computer.

I’m really confused. My laptop has windows 7. So do I have to install (KB4019108)?

Somebody please give me the link to it because this is getting confusing and complicated.

The link to it is in the topic above. The instructions are immediately below.

If you have a problem following those instructions, you should open Windows Update and install any .NET update you find there.

      https://www.askwoody.com/forums/topic/2000003-ongoing-list-of-group-b-monthly-updates-for-win7-and-8-1/

Are the past .NET security only patches available for catch up’s? If so I wonder if they could be included on the “Group B” page above? Roll ups are an option but do they fling you into group A?

      Thanks all ๐Ÿ™‚

The security only .NET patches for April are here Those are the only other ones we have reference to that I know of.

Security only updates for .NET are not a part of Group B. The Group B recommendation is to install the Security & Quality Rollup for .NET framework through Windows Update. See Step B4 of AKB2000003

It is only if you have special needs that you should be installing security only patches for .NET.

          PKCano,

Being the dummy I am, I have to ask, Just what does .NET Framework do? It takes up quite a bit of space on my HDD. I don’t recall ever seeing it being used. If it is not a requirement for something else, I’m considering removing it to free up some space. Is this advisable, or not?
          Thanks, in advance.

          Dave

.NET Framework is used in combination with other programming languages to create applications that run on Windows. If you do not have it installed, the programs will not work.
