Starting just a few days ago my Send To menu started adding a 5 second or so delay (every time) when clicking on it in Explorer. Just a few weeks ago my start menu began to act strangely also. If I click on Program Files (XP style start menu), it displays. If I move to the newly appearing menu it disappears. I have to WAIT for about two seconds after seeing it, before moving to it for it to stay. Of course, to make things fun, this doesn’t ALWAYS happen.

    Any ideas?

Bryan, what are the contents of your SendTo menu? Any network drive mappings in there? Any recent additions that might require name resolution?

This makes some sense as it happened sometime after I’d started working part time on someone elses domain. I can’t pin point when as it’s been doing it for a while. If it helps, the entire start menu is weird . When I choose “Programs” for example, it takes a couple of seconds to display, then disappears for a second then returns. If I try to move to it before it disappears I have to start all over.

I’ll try to paste or attach a copy of my Send To menu here. I notice a D: and F: drive at the bottom. They are my external drives and only seem to show up on the SendTo menu when attached. The Where is from PC Magazine and it kind of seems to me I added it sometime around when this began. I should uninstall and test.

Seems faster. It was actually the send to powertoys that did it. Thanks.

Bryan, just for curiosity’s sake, which version of the “SendTo” powertoys did you use? Was it the one that was part of the original SendTo enhancements from way back when, or was this a recent iteration? I’d like to make a mental note to avoid it myself!

I don’t have the install on my system so I’m not sure. I picked it up about three months or so ago.
