I was told about this command, found in the ‘all commands’ list of the QAT customise dialog. Apparently is lets me send a Word doc to PP directly, with headings getting changed to slide titles. This would be really useful, but although I’ve put the button on my Word QAT nothing seems to happen when I click it, having the prepared Word doc open. (Sometimes PowerPoint opens, but shows and empty window, not even a blank presentation). Am I not doing something I should? TIA Frank

Hmm, that seems to work fine when tested here. It works both with .doc files and .docx files, as well as new, unsaved documents. So it seems like something else is going on.

Which version of Office are you using – 2007 or 2010? Do you work in a corporate environment, in which policies that modify Office may be in effect?

I now realise I have to use Heading 1 for slide titles and Heading 2 for bullet points. My word doc started out with H2 section headings, and bullet point as, well, bullets.
It seems that you need at least one H1 for this to work – otherwise PP has no sense of where to start. Embarrasedly yours, Frank

          Hi
You might also find that you have to make sure that you use ‘normal’ style rather than ‘body text’ to get accurate results.
