• Setting Criteria for a crosstab query

I am working in Access 2002. I am trying to run a crosstab query with the criteria for one of the fields being pulled from a form. However I get the error message”The Microsoft Jet database engine does not recognize ‘[Forms]!FundsReports]![SelClientRpt]’ as a valid field name or expression.”. This works in a Select Query.
Is there some way to pull the criteria for a crosstab query field from a form?

Have you defined [Forms]!FundsReports]![SelClientRpt] as a parameter in the query?

To add some to Patt’s reply, see the following Microsoft KB article. Ignore the “ACC2000” in the title, as this applies to all versions of Access:

ACC2000: Error When Running Crosstab Query with a Parameter

I hasd seen a feference to defining a parameter in the query but did not know how. This got my qiery working.
      Thanks to both of you!
