If I am using a shared workbook and it is set up to save changes every 15 minutes how can I go about seeing the changes from other users without closing my file and reopening? Thanks!

If someone opens up a shared workbook that someone else already has open you can only open it “read only” and no changes can be saved. If the Auto Save is running only the first person can save changes.
Are you trying to have a read only workbook open and see changes made by the person who is “allowed” to make changes?

This is NOT true for shared workbooks. It is true if the workbook is NOT-shared (exclusive use only).

Shared workbooks can be opened and saved by multiple people. If there are conflicts you we be prompted to fix them. As far as I know you can only see the changes others have made when you save (but I don’t use shared workbooks)

I would like to warn you a bit.

Sharing workbooks looks like a nice feature, but is poorly programmed into Excel.
I have seen too many problems reported with shared workbooks loosing data and/or getting corrupted for me to EVER trust and actually use this feature.

Sharing data is what databases do best.

Thanks for the confirmation of only being able to see the changes by other users after I have saved, closed and re-opened.

I agree- shared workbooks sounds appealing however all the limitations take care of that!

        Have a great weekend!

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
