A former student asked me this question. Do you have any ideas? I am attaching a word doc that he sent me with the actual problem highlighted in Yellow. Thanks for taking a look. Appreciate any input on this one, ’cause I’m no whiz with VBA, but am so interested in it, that I should be shaken real hard…hehe.

I have an Access Database I am now trying to share with other systems
in the Battalion, but I can’t put it on a server. It has to be run from my
desktop. Anyway, one of the computers won’t run the switchboard I have
to navigate through the database. This is the bug that it identifies as
the problem. I don’t know enough VBA to solve this problem. Maybe he
didn’t get a full install of Access, but I just don’t know. I haven’t had a
problem with anyone else’s systems.

It could be a case of a Missing Reference.

To check it, have your former student open the Switchboard form in Design View. Next open the code behind the form. Now display the References (maybe Tools | References – it’s that way for Access 97). Look for the word MISSING along the left side of the window.

If you see any that are missing, click on the reference name (not the check mark) and write down the name of the library and its location. Then, deselect the references and re-select them. (He/she may need to close the dialog box before re-selecting will work).

If it’s not Missing References, please post back.

This appears to be the switchboard code created when a Switchboard form is created in Access 2002. They switched the default data access method to ADO, whereas it was DAO for 97 and 2000. Most 2000 PCs run it just fine, but I’ve seen two that refuse to run the code and get a debug error just as you got. The only solution I’ve been able to come up with is to recreate the Switchboard form on an Access 2000 PC. Let us know if that is indeed the problem and you can fix it as I suggested.

I couldn’t find any missing references. I finally got a comm tech to reinstall Office 2000 SR-1 and now it works just fine. I do greatly appreciate your help.
