I don’t much like the way Windoze7 shows Control Panel items in groups.
It’s handy sometimes as it will show related items in individual control panel
windows under See Also, but at other times you have to noodle around a lot
to find the item you’re looking for.

It helps to modify the Start Menu to display the Control Panel as a List.
This will make the Control Panel display as a slide-out list on the Start Menu
with all items displayed individually and alphabetically and not in groups.
(Makes it easier at least for me to find individual Control Panel items.)

    Here’s how to do it.

In Control Panel Home, click on the
    Appearance and Personalization Group.
Click on Task Bar and Start Menu.

In the Task Bar and Start Menu Properties window,
Click the Start Menu tab at the top, then click Customize…

In the Customize Start Menu window, scroll down the list to Control Panel,
and click to put a dot next to Display as a menu.
Click OK, then click Apply and OK once again.

Rich, Thank for the info. I have set many of these items to menu since XP.

A shorter version is right click on the Start Orb and select Properties. On the Start menu tab change any items you would like to appear as a menu.
