Slow loading web page

In the past week, I have noticed that web pages take an age to load and not always completely. I use a Dell PC that has an Ethernet cable to a BT Hub router. Whilst we are not in a fast download speed area, the download is much slower than it ever has been. I have run CCleaner, tried a restore point but without success. Up until a week ago it was okay, not fast, but okay. I am not very computer savvy and having read earlier threads about changing the DNS, it has left me bewildered! Any help, in simple terms, would be appreciated.
