It may depend on the version of Word you are running, but does the method outlined in MSKB 329883 work?

        Hi Leif

Thanks for the prompt reply, your suggestion worked to a degree, I can get into word as a picture, but I can’t fit it to A4 it the picture is larger than the page. I tried dragging at the corners to no avail.

BTW if these files are created in Access is it possible to open them in Access I have Access 2007.

        Regards

Although a snapshot file is created from within Microsoft Access, you cannot open or import it in Access. A snapshot file is a graphical representation of a report.

            Hi

I see what you mean, I just wanted to get it into word so I can distribute it to non tech people to read,

            Regards

The non-tech people can view the snapshot files, can’t they?

In addition to Leif’s reply: a .snp file is the result of exporting a report from a Microsoft Access database to snapshot format.
If you have the original database, you could export the reports to .rtf or .html format instead of to .snp format.
Otherwise, if you have a program that lets you print files to PDF, you can print the .snp files to .pdf format. There are several ways you can convert .pdf files to Word.

        Hi Hans

Thanks for the reply, unfortunatley I don’t have the origional reports, could you point me in the direction of converting pdf to word, if I can get it to pdf, at the moment I can only view the snps in snapshot viewer.

        Regards

Unless it would result in an unacceptable loss of detail, could you not just take a screen-grab of the image in snapshot viewer and put that in your document?

          See for example post 687,017.

            Hi Hans

Thanks I managed to print (convert ) them as .xps files for now. for anyone else watching to read xps files I think I am right in saying you need to install .Net Framework.

Thanks to you and Leif for your assistance.

            Regards

If that suits your purpose, that’s fine. But I don’t see what you gain by it. Anyone can download and install the Snapshot Viewer, just like anyone can download and install the XPS Viewer from View and Generate XPS. The former doesn’t require anything extra, the latter requires that you have installed the .Net 3.0 Framework. So what’s the advantage of converting to XPS?
