    hello Loungers

I did ask this question earlier, but this is a new twist…

Can one sort the Read messages from the Unread messages in the Inbox window? I tried clicking on the column headers but it did not work, I still had unread messages and read ones intermingled, but for the better part it was grouped and sorted accordigly.

Is there a bug in OL 2003?

Also I have noticed that some messages are bold, subject is bold, but yet the icon is an open envelop type?

    TIA

    Wassim

I don’t have 2003, but it should work. Perhaps it is a bug. You could go into View | current view. You may find that this sort already exists. If not, you can modify one or create a new one while you are there.

I think Outlook 2003 is full of bugs.

Apart from the sorting thing, I am also noticing that when I am getting my messages, the statusbars in the Send/Receive Progress are totally not accurate. I will have 2 messages totaling 2 MB and Outlook says it will take 15 hours to finish.

I will have 370 messages totaling 27.1 MB and Outlook says it will take 45 minutes. Plus the status bars are not moving for the first 170 messages, and then it moves a 5 millimeter and for the next 100 it moves another 5 milliliter never getting close to the finish line.

Also the way it sorts the messages as they are coming is fishy at best. I could send two messages back to back, and sort by Received time, and the messages end up in two different screens, that is you need to scroll to see the second one.

Oh well, I will wait for Office 25 to fix all these.

Using View|Arrange By|Current View, one can see the Unread messages only. Alternatively, you can set something up using either Define Views (like for colour coding) or View|Arrange By|Custom.

Use the unread search folder to view only the unread messages.

What type of account do you have? IMAP and Hotmail accounts may have the wrong icons.
