Sound problems: static

I recently changed to a SIM based internet provider.  Ever since doing this I receive lots of “static” in my computer speakers. 

What can I do about this?

Usually the easiest thing is to increase the distance between the modem and your speakers (and audio cables). Say, with a piece of wired Ethernet between the computer and modem for example.

There are other things that can be done too, I mean, on the audio side the on-air mobile data is just some more electromagnetic interference that the audio parts are catching… but that’ll depend on specifics.

You get the same effect if you put your mobile phone next to the radio/stereo etc. Distance is your friend.
