    Good morning,

I have a database that is split. I moved the backend and did a Link Table Manager to relink the tables. Upon exiting the database, I found that the backend.ldb was still present. It cannot be deleted or moved and will not close if I reenter the database and exit. Any thoughts? TIA.

In addition, the database has a tab control with 5 tabs on it. If the database is not split, all tabs display subforms properly. With the database split, 2 of the tab controls do not display the subforms properly. Again, any thoughts? TIA.

If the .ldb file is on a local disk, you may have to restart the PC. If it’s on a network disk, try logging out and in again.

        Hi Hans,

Since the .ldb resides on a network drive, I tried logging off and in again to no avail.

This happens to me from time to time. Usually, the locked file can be deleted the next day. If the problem persists, I have to ask the network admin to delete the file for me (but that is extremely rare).

That’s probably what I’ll have to do also. Thanks for the reply. Any thoughts on the tab control issue?

Sorry, “2 of the tab controls do not display the subforms properly” is far too vague to comment on. I’d need to have much more info or to see the database.

Unfortunately, this monster is not mine and I can’t send it. I’ll keep trying here. Thanks, anyway.

Can you open the problematic subforms directly from the database window in the split database?

No I cannot. The author of this is checking other forms for some key; Home-grown security. I’m going to send it back to him. Thanks again.
