Start menu format

While debugging a random hang problem in W98SE I went into Safe Mode. I normally run my monitor at 1024 x 768. When I went back to normal operations, the Start menu has a real large format, but the subsequent submenus have the smaller format that I prefer.

How can I get the Start menu to look like the rest (and look like it did before I went into Safe Mode)?

Hi Donald:
1. Go to Start/Run/Settings/Taskbar & Start Menu…
2. Then click the checkbox that says to “use small icons in the start menu”.
3. If you have TweakUI, bring it up & go to the Explorer tab & make sure “Save settings, etc.” is checked.
4. Reboot.

This should do it.

I cruise by things all the time. If no one made mistakes (including the design engineers), we probably wouldn’t have a forum.
