Statistics on a table’s data (2000)

I have a table I want to collect data on. For
example, “how many of the entries have the value “X” for
such-and-such field in the table?” Any way I can publish
some kind of a report with such statistics? Thanks.

You can calculate sum, count, average and things like that in a Totals query, then create a report based on the Totals query.
The Report Wizard also offers the option to group records and to calculate group sums, counts and averages.
Most Access basics books explain this in detail.
