I created a spreadsheet with a filter. In the status bar it would usually says Ready or Enter in the lower left hand corner. When I select the Autofilter drop down arrow in my “last years” spreadsheey it would say like “3 of 100 records found” in the status bar lower left hand corner (based on my filter request answer. When I do it in my new spreadhsheet this year it only says “Filter Mode”. It doesn’t give me the record count. Help?

    Thanks in advance…..

Hi There this is normally caused by having 51 or more formulas in a list or each formula in the list each has a cell reference, a work around is as follws:

      1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
      2. In the Options dialog box, click the Calculation tab.
      3. On the Calculation tab, click Manual under Calculation.
      4. Filter the list to see the filter results in the status bar.

It’s because you have more than 51 formulas in your list and Microsoft can’t stand to do that many calculations! drop Seriously, it’s a know problem Q189479. Microsoft’s workaround is to turn off automatic calculations. This is progress? –Sam
